Windshields and stationary glass rear quarter windows should be removed and reinstalled using procedures outlined in the 1991 S/T Service Manual X-9129, Section 10A3.
After windshield and quarter window removal, the metal surface of the window opening MUST have the black primer (incorrect) removed completely. This may be accomplished by applying duct tape to the primed surface and then quickly stripping the tape from the vehicle. The majority of the primer will adhere to the tape. The primer that remains adhered to the body should be removed using Naptha.
The window opening should then be reprimed with the # 3 metal primer provided in the furnished kit. The glass should be reinstalled following the installation procedure outlined in Section 10A3, using the # 1 glass prep and # 2 glass primer furnished.
If this repair is sublet to a glass replacement facility provide this facility with the required installation procedure, a copy of this notification and the furnished installation kit(s).
