Rear Wheel Antilock Brake System (RWAL)
CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODESALDL Connector Terminal Identification.:
If the "anti-Lock" warning lamp stays lit, the codes may be cleared by the following procedure: (An engine remote starter will work very fine in this procedure)
1. Turn ignition switch to the "On" position.
2. Using a suitable jumper wire, ground Assembly Line Diagnostic Link (ALDL) terminal "H" to "A" for two seconds.
3. Remove jumper wire for one second.
4. Repeat grounding for two seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch to the "Off" position.
6. Turn ignition switch to the "On" position.
7. An indication of success, is when both the "Anti-lock" and "Brake" become lit and unlit again.
NOTICE: If the "Antilock" warning lamp is not lit and no diagnostic trouble codes are stored, the lamp may be accidentally turned on and remain on by grounding diagnostic terminal "H" and "A" twice within ten seconds. If this occurs, and Diagnostic Trouble Code 65 is read, this diagnostic trouble code was probably set by the technician. This is a peculiarity within the 4WAL system and should not be interpreted as a faulty condition but simply cleared. Any time the "ANTILOCK" light is lit the antilock system is disabled.
