Cleaning and Inspection
^ Clean gasket seal surface.
^ Inspect gasket sealing surface for corrosion or damage that would cause coolant leak. Replace cover assembly or throttle body if necessary.

Assemble
1. New cover gasket (6).
2. Cover assembly (2).
3. Cover screws (3).
Tighten
^ IAC valve cover screws (3) to 3.0 N.m (27 in.lbs.).

Measure (If Installing a New IAC Valve)
^ Distance between tip of IAC valve and pintle mounting surface.
- If greater than 28 mm, use finger pressure to slowly retract the pintle. The force required to retract the pintle of a new valve will not cause damage to the valve.
4. IAC valve assembly (5) with new gasket (4).
Tighten
^ IAC valve to 18 N.m (13 ft.lbs.).
^ Use a socket or box wrench on the valve hex.
