REAR AXLE SHAFT INSPECTION AND/OR REPLACEMENT

1991-92 C AND K 1/2 TON MODELS


General Motors has determined that certain 1991-92 C and K model trucks built at Pontiac East and Oshawa Assembly Plants may have been assembled with improperly heat treated axle shafts. Premature bearing wear without loss of axle shaft integrity, and eccentric seal wear may result in possible oil leakage.

To correct this condition, the existing axle shafts will be inspected and replaced where necessary.
