Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

Fuel Pump:

REMOVE

1. Fuel pipes and hoses from the fuel pump
2. Bolts
3. Fuel pump
4. Gasket
5. Bolts
6. Mounting Plate
7. Gasket
8. Push rod if necessary

INSTALL

1. Push rod if removed

^ Apply chassis grease to the push rod to hold it up against the camshaft

2. New gasket
3. Mounting plate

Tighten
Tighten bolts to 8 Nm (72 in lbs)

4. New gasket
5. Fuel pump

Tighten
Tighten bolts to 33 Nm (24 ft lbs)

6. Fuel pipes and hoses to fuel pump

^ If it is difficult to start the outlet fitting, disconnect the line at the diesel injection pump.
^ Start the engine and check for leaks
