Drive Belt: Service and Repair
4.3, 5.0, And 5.7 Engines:
7.4 Engine:
Remove
1. Using a 1/2 inch breaker bar with a socket placed on tensioner pulley axis bolt, rotate tensioner counter-clockwise.
2. Remove belt.
Install
1. Route belt over all the pulleys except the belt tensioner.
2. Use a 1/2-inch breaker bar with sockets placed on the tensioner pulley axis bolt and rotate the tensioner to the left (counterclockwise).
3. Belt over the belt tensioner pulley.
4. Check the belt for correct "V" groove tracking around each pulley.
