SUBJECT:
LOSS OF THIRD, DIRECT CLUTCH DISTRESS AND/OR SLIPS IN REVERSE (NEW DISHED PLATE)

MODELS:
1992 C/K, P TRUCK AND G-VAN



CONDITION:
Some 1992 HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-EHD transmissions may experience Loss of Third, Direct Clutch Distress and/or Slips in Reverse.

CAUSE:
This can be caused by the Direct Clutch Dished Plate damage or cracking.

CORRECTION:
A new Direct Clutch Dished Plate (609) was released with a new material that increases the durability.

(Figure 1) Starting October 1, 1991 (Julian Date 274) all 1992 HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-EHD models were built with the new Direct Clutch Dished Plate.
