Fuel Tank Assembly

Fuel Tank Assembly:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable (ensure ignition is "OFF").
2. Fuel from tank.
3. Raise vehicle.
4. Clamps from filler neck hose and vent line.
5. Support fuel tank and remove fuel tank retaining straps.
6. Fuel sender wires, hoses, and ground strap. Lower fuel tank to gain access.
7. Fuel tank from vehicle.
8. Fuel pump/sending unit from tank.
9. Purge fuel tank, if being repaired. Refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL TANK PURGING.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Fuel sender and pump assembly into fuel tank.
2. Fuel tank into vehicle.
3. Sending unit wires, hoses, and ground straps.
4. Fuel tank retaining straps with insulator straps in place.
5. Clamps to filler neck hose and vent lines.
6. Bolts and nuts.
7. Fuel and fuel tank filler cap.
8. Negative battery cable.

NOTE: If a memory retention device was not used, reset (to the extent possible) all devices that lost memory after battery was disconnected).

9. Check for leaks before and after ignition is switched "ON".
10 Lower vehicle.
