Extension Oil Seal Replacement

Remove or Disconnect

- Raise the vehicle.

1. Transmission oil. Refer to "Drain and Fill" Service and Repair.
2. Propeller shaft Service and Repair.
3. Parking brake, if used.
4. Yoke nut and washer.
5. Yoke.
6. Seal.

Install or Connect

Tools Required
- J 22834 Extension Housing Seal Installer

1. New seal, using J 22834.
2. Yoke.

Notice: When fasteners are removed, always reinstall them at the same location from which they were removed. If a fastener needs to be replaced, use the correct part number fastener for that application. If the correct part number fastener is not available, a fastener of equal size and strength (or stronger) may be used. Fastener that are not reused, and those requiring thread locking compound will be called out. The correct torque value muse be used when installing fasteners that require it. If the above conditions are not followed, parts, or system damage could result.

3. Wahsers and yoke nut.

Tighten
- Yoke Nut to 407 Nm (300 ft lb).

4. Parking brake, if used.
5. Propeller shaft Service and Repair.
6. Transmission oil. Refer to "Drain and Fill" Service and Repair.
- Lower the vehicle.
