Install or Connect
CAUTION: When fasteners are removed, always reinstall them at the same location from which they were removed. If a fastener needs to be replaced, use the correct part number fastener for that application. If the correct part number fastener is not available, a fastener of equal size and strength (or stronger) may be used. The correct torque value must be used when installing fasteners that require it. If the above conditions are not met, parts or system damage could result.
1. Install Timing chain (58) with the camshaft sprocket (101) on the camshaft.
2. Ensure that the timing marks on the crankshaft sprocket (59) and camshaft sprocket (101) are as close together as possible and lined up with the shaft centers.
3. Install Bolts attaching the camshaft sprocket (101) to the camshaft.
4. Tighten Camshaft sprocket bolts to: 28 n.m (20 lb. ft.).
5. Lubricate the timing chain (58) with engine oil.
6. Install Engine front cover. Refer to Timing Cover. Service and Repair
