Trunk / Liftgate: Description and Operation
Voltage to the Rear Liftgate Release system is available at all times through the PWR/ACC Circuit Breaker and the ORN/BLK (60) wire. Ground for the optional Remote Switch is through the ORN/BLK (434) wire and the Park/Neutral Switch. This Switch is closed when the Gear Selector Lever is in the Park or Neutral position. This completes a ground circuit to the optional Remote Release Switch. Moving this switch completes a circuit by grounding the Rear Liftgate Lock/Latch Module through the RED (1306) wire. This triggers the module to send an unlock signal to the release solenoids via the GRA (1305) wire.
The standard Rear Liftgate Key Switch will work with the Gear Selector Lever in any position. The switch, connected to the rear door key lock, is connected to ground by the BLK (151) wire. Turning the key causes the switch to close, completing the circuit to the module via the RED (1306) wire. This triggers the module to send an unlock signal to the release solenoids via the GRA (1305) wire.
The dutch doors, unlike the liftgate, also lock electronically. This is accomplished through the Liftgate Strut Switch located on the RH Liftgate Strut. When the Liftgate is closed, the switch closes, connecting the BLK (151) wire to the DK GRN (1148) wire. The DK GRN (1148) wire triggers the module to send a lock signal to the Mini-Wedge Latch Solenoid through the DK BLU (1304) wire.
