Misses Under Load

Definition
Steady pulsation or jerking that follows engine speed, usually more pronounced as engine load increases. The exhaust has a steady spitting sound at idle or low speed.

POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION

Contaminated fuel Check Water or excessive alcohol in fuel.
Alcohol/Contaminants-In-Fuel Testing Procedure
Replace Drain fuel tank and add clean fuel



Low fuel pressure Check - Fuel pressure.

- Fuel filter restriction



Pinched or collapsed fuel hose/ line Repair/replace As required refer to
FUEL SUPPLY/ RETURN OR EMISSION PIPES/
COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR
in FUEL SUPPLY AND AIR INDUCTION





Inoperative fuel injector(s) Check Injector(s).
Perform: - Injector driver circuit test. - Injector service (cleaning)
