3-2 Control Solenoid

PURPOSE
This electrical device, controlled by the PCM, is used to control fluid flow acting on the 3-2 shift valve, which then controls the 2-4 band apply rate and 3-4 clutch release rate. The solenoid also controls the 3-2 downshift feel.

OPERATION
The solenoid is a pulse width modulated solenoid that operates on a negative duty cycle.

LOCATION
The solenoid is attached to the control valve body within the transmission.
