FRONT TUBE AND SHAFT ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Unlock steering column, then raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove right front wheel, then right side drive axle, refer to AXLES, DRIVE SHAFTS/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT & REPAIR/FRONT AXLE (AWD MODELS)/DRIVE AXLE.
4. Remove tube assembly bracket nuts and washers, Fig. 2.
5. Remove tube to carrier bolts, then tube and shaft assembly, catching fluid in a suitable container.

INSTALLATION
1. Clean sealing surfaces of tube and carrier assembly with a suitable chlorinated solvent, then apply bead of suitable sealer to carrier sealing surface.
2. Install shaft and tube assembly onto carrier.
3. Install support bracket.
4. Install drive axle to output shaft by installing one bolt finger tight, then rotating axle shaft to install remaining bolts.
5. Install lower shock bolt and nut. Tighten to specifications.
