1. Disarm airbag as directed under Service Precautions ``Airbag System Disarming.'' Remove ignition lock as described under STEERING / COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR / IGNITION LOCK.

2. Refer to Figs. 7 and 8 to replace wiper switch. Reverse procedure to install. Enable airbag as directed under Service Precautions ``Airbag System Arming.''
