Except 3500 Hd Models

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove shift control lever and boot.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Drain fluid from transmission.
5. Disconnect driveshaft from transmission.
6. Remove transfer case, if equipped.
7. Disconnect parking brake cable.
8. Disconnect exhaust pipes from exhaust manifolds.
9. Disconnect electrical connectors from transmission.
10. Remove clutch slave cylinder and position aside.
11. Remove transmission cover.
12. Support transmission using a jack.
13. Remove hydraulic lines attaching clips from transmission.
14. Remove crossmember.
15. Remove transmission attaching bolts, then the transmission.
16. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten transmission attaching bolts to specifications.
