Pressure Bleeding

Brake fluid will damage electrical connections and painted surfaces. Use shop cloths and fender covers to prevent fluid from contacting these areas.

1. Fill pressure tank at least 2/3 full of brake fluid.
2. Charge bleeder to 20-25 psi.
3. Use tool No. J-39177, or equivalent, to depress and hold valve stem on combination valve.
4. Install bleeder adapter.
5. Bleed each wheel in following sequence:
a. Right rear.
b. Left rear.
c. Right Front.
d. Left front.
6. Connect the hose from bleeder to adapter at the master cylinder.
7. Open tank valve.
8. Attach tool No. J-28434, or equivalent, to a bleeder valve.
9. immerse opposite end of hose into container partially filled with clean brake fluid.
10. Open bleeder valve at least 3/4 of a turn and allow fluid to flow until no air is seen in the fluid.
11. Torque bleeder valve to 62 inch lbs.
12. Repeat preceding bleed steps at all wheels.
13. Check brake pedal for sponginess. Repeat bleeding procedure to correct this condition.
14. Remove tool used to hold combination valve stem.
15. Disconnect hose from bleeder adapter.
16. Fill master cylinder to proper fluid level.
17. Turn ignition switch to On position and perform three function tests.
18. Evaluate pedal feel. Repeat bleed procedure if necessary.
