Charging the System
A/C system must be evacuated before charging. Ensure Lbs./Kg switch on back of unit is set to desired weight system (operate switch with Main power Off).1. Close low side valve, then open high side valve on control panel
2. Press CHG on keypad to ensure unit is in program mode. Enter amount of refrigerant charge to charge A/C system.
Ensure to use correct weight system (Lbs./Kg).
3. Press ENTER. A blink in display will indicate charge amount is in unit's memory. Press CHG to begin charging process.
4. Display will show AUTOMATIC and amount of refrigerant programmed for charging. Display will count to zero as charging process takes place. At end of process, display shows CPL.
5. If charge was successful, follow Steps 6 through 8.
6. If charge was not successful, follow Steps 9 or 10.
7. Close high side valve on control panel (both valves should be closed).
8. Start vehicle, then turn A/C system on and allow to run until readings on high side and low side gauges stabilize. Compare readings to specifications.
9. With A/C running, close high side coupler valve and disconnect high side (red) hose from vehicle. Open both high side and low side valves on control panel. Refrigerant from both hoses will be drawn into A/C system through low side hose. Close low side coupler valve and disconnect from vehicle
10. Charge may be too slow because pressures are equal between unit's tank and A/C system. In this case, unit will emit an audible signal and display will show weight remaining for charge. Proceed as follows:
a. Close high side valve, then open low side valve.
b. Start vehicle A/C system and press HOLD/CONT on keypad.
c. This will allow remaining refrigerant to enter A/C system. Proceed to Step 6.
11. Display may show CHECK REFRIGERANT. This indicates an insufficient amount of refrigerant to charge A/C system. Press HOLD/CONT on keypad to interrupt cycle, then press RESET to reset unit. Discharge, evacuate and charge system as directed.
