Water Pump: Service and Repair

Water pump replacement. 4.3L/V6-262:

1. Drain cooling system.
2. Remove accessory drive belts as equipped and the fan.
3. Disconnect all hoses from water pump.
4. Remove alternator upper and lower mounting braces, if necessary.
5. Remove pump attaching bolts and remove water pump, Fig. 28
6. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten water pump attaching bolts to specification.
