Governor Throttle Drive Assembly

Governor Throttle Drive Assembly:






REMOVAL:

- Disconnect negative battery terminal.
- Remove air cleaner assembly, extension (spacer), and gasket.
- Disconnect wiring harness connector from drive motor connector.
NOTE: Block the throttle cam lever at the 11 o'clock position by inserting a 14 mm (1/2 in.) socket between the governor drive motor and the throttle cam lever. See image VIEW A.
- Remove the four governor throttle drive assembly attaching screws.
- Remove the governor throttle drive assembly while holding the throttle valves closed, as shown in image VIEW B.

INSPECTION:

- Check for worn or damaged parts, and parts in need of lubrication (no apparent sign of grease). Refer to GOVERNOR LUBRICATION if any of the above conditions apply.

INSTALLATION:

NOTE: Block the throttle cam lever at the 11 o'clock position by inserting a 14 mm (1/2 in.) socket between the governor drive motor and the throttle cam lever. See image VIEW A.

- Position the throttle drive assembly in place and hold.
- Install four motor plate attaching screw assemblies coated with the appropriate thread locking compound. Tighten the attaching screw assemblies to 4.5 Nm (40 lb.in.).
- Inspect for free rotation of throttle cam lever and throttle valves.
- Connect governor motor wiring harness connector and install connector locking tab insert (Bus application only).
- Install gasket, extension (spacer), and air cleaner assembly.
