Fuel Tank Assembly

Fuel Tank Assembly:

REMOVAL

- Remove the fuel from the tank.
- Remove clamps from filler neck hose and vent line.
- Remove fuel tank retaining straps. Support the fuel tank.
- Disconnect fuel sender wires, hoses, and ground strap. Lower the fuel tank to gain access.
- Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
- Remove the fuel pump/sending unit from the tank. Refer to FUEL PUMP/FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT.
- Purge fuel tank, if being repaired. Refer to FUEL TANK PURGING.

INSTALLATION

- Install fuel sender and pump assembly into fuel tank.
- Install fuel tank into vehicle.
- Connect sending unit wires, hoses, and ground straps.
- Install fuel tank retaining straps with insulator straps in place.
- Install clamps to filler neck hose and vent lines.
- Install bolts and nuts.
