Engine: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.2. Disconnect hood lamp and vacuum reservoir from hood, then disconnect windshield washer line to hood.
3. Remove outer cowl vent grilles, then remove hood.
4. Raise and support vehicle and drain engine oil and coolant.
5. Discharge A/C system.
6. Remove oxygen sensor, then loosen exhaust hanger at converter.
7. Remove exhaust manifold.
8. Remove pencil braces from engine to transmission, then the inspection cover.
9. Disconnect wiring to starter, then remove starter motor.
10. Remove engine mount through bolts.
11. Remove bellhousing bolts, then lower vehicle.
12. Remove battery and disconnect body ground.
13. Remove air cleaner and air duct work, then the upper and lower fan shrouds and fan.
14. Remove multiple ribbed belt, then the coolant pump.
15. Remove upper radiator hose, then the air conditioning compressor from brackets and set aside.
16. Remove lower radiator hose, then the radiator.
17. Disconnect power steering lines at pump.
18. Disconnect heater hoses from intake and coolant pump.
19. Disconnect wiring harness from engine.
20. Disconnect and mark vacuum lines, throttle cable and fuel line using shop towel to collect spillage.
21. Support transmission and install engine lifting device.
22. Raise engine and remove left side engine mount, then lift engine from vehicle.
23. Reverse procedure to install.
