Fuel Filter: Service and Repair
WARNING To reduce the risk of fire and personal injury when the fuel line is disconnected, cover the fuel line with a shop cloth to collect the fuel, and then place the cloth in an approved container.Fuel Filter:
REMOVE/DISCONNECT
- Fuel filler cap.
- Fuel lines from filter.
NOTE Use a back-up wrench to prevent filter, O-ring, or fuel line damage.
- Clamp bolt.
- Filter and clamp.
- Clamp from filter.
INSTALL/CONNECT
- Clamp to filter.
- Clamp bolt.
- Using new O-rings, install fuel lines into filter.
NOTE Use a back-up wrench to prevent filter, O-ring, or fuel line damage.
- Torque line fittings to 26 Nm (20 lb-ft).
- Fuel filler cap.
- "START" engine and inspect for leaks.
NOTE Refer to FUEL PUMP/FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT REPLACEMENT for fuel strainer (In Tank Filter) removal.
