ALDL Connector Terminal Identification.:

Due to software changes and the removal of the diagnostic enable circuit (by using 16 pin DLC), Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) may no longer be cleared by grounding "A" to "H" at the Data Link Connector (DLC). If the vehicle has a 12 pin DLC that contains a pin "A" and "H" then clearing codes MAY be possible by following this procedure.

1. Turn ignition switch to the On position.
2. Using a suitable jumper wire, ground Assembly Line Diagnostic Link (ALDL) terminal "H" to "A" for two seconds.
3. Remove jumper wire for one second.
4. Repeat grounding for two seconds.

If the "Anti-Lock" warning lamp is not lit and no diagnostic trouble codes are stored, the lamp may be accidentally turned on and remain on by grounding diagnostic terminal "H" and "A" twice within ten seconds. If this occurs, and Diagnostic Trouble Code 65 is read, this diagnostic trouble code was probably set by the technician.
