DTC's 84 and 99 when Ignition Key Cycled Off with Brake Pedal Applied (Clear DTC(s) with Tech 1 Scanner)

MODELS:
1994-95 Chevrolet and GMC Truck C/K Models, G Vans, P Motorhomes
with 6.5L Engine (VINs F, S, P - RPOs L65, L56, L49)

CONDITION

(ENGINE MUST BE RUNNING)
A DTC 84 or DTC's 84 and 99 may set when the ignition key is cycled off with the brake pedal applied and the ignition key is cycled back on within 25 seconds. The Tech 1 scanner will indicate the diagnostic trouble codes stored in history. These DTC's may suggest to a technician that the APP is faulty and unnecessarily replace the APP module.

CAUSE

The calibration is programmed to set the diagnostic trouble codes when the ignition is shut off with the brake pedal applied.

CORRECTION

After following the diagnostic charts in the Service Manual for DTC 84 and/or DTC 99 and there is not a problem found, clear the DTC or DTC's with the Tech 1 scanner.
