Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
The
camshaft position sensor, located in the Enhanced Ignition System distributor, sends a signal to the Vehicle Control Module
(VCM-A) which uses it to determine if the distributor is installed correctly Diagnostic Trouble Code
(DTC) P1345 or for cylinder identification for misfire diagnosis (DTC PO3OO thru PO3O6) DTC(s) P0340, and P0341 will set if there is a cam sensor malfunction. Refer to
