Transfer Case Select Switch Assembly

MECHANICAL SHIFT: This switch assembly is used to indicate the position of the transfer case select lever. When four wheel drive (4WD) low is selected a ground path is provided, changing the 4WD low input signal from B+ to zero voltage at the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The 4WD low switch signal input is used to correct the transmission output speed signal from the VSS buffer module to the PCM, to compensate for the transfer case gear reduction. This 4WD low switch is part of the transfer case shift select switch assembly and is attached to the 4WD shift detent lever bracket.
