Steering Wheel

STEERING WHEEL REPLACEMENT












REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

TOOL REQUIRED: J 1859-A Steering Wheel Puller

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Disable the SIR system (if equipped). Refer to "Disabling the SIR System."
3. Inflator module. Refer to "Inflator Module Replacement - SIR."
4. Steering wheel nut.
5. Horn plunger contact.
^ Mark the relationship of the steering wheel to the steering shaft.

6. Steering wheel. Using J 1859-03.

NOTICE: Do not hammer on the puller, or damage could result to the steering column.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Steering wheel onto the steering shaft. (Align the marks made at removal).

IMPORTANT: Do not mis-align the steering wheel.

2. Horn plunger contact (some models).
3. Steering wheel nut.

TIGHTEN
^ Nut to 41 Nm (30 lbs. ft.).

4. Inflator module. Refer to "Inflator Module Replacement - SIR."

5. Negative battery cable.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to "Enabling the SIR System."
