Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Service and Repair

INSPECTION
The Positive Crankcase Ventilation ([1][2]PCV) system should be checked every 30,000 miles and also during regular engine tune-ups. If the crankcase ventilation system includes a breather filter, located in the air cleaner housing, this filter should be replaced whenever the crankcase ventilation valve or air cleaner is replaced. Replace crankcase ventilation components as diagnosis requires.
