Dieseling/Run-on

DEFINITION
Engine continues to run after key is turned "OFF," but runs very roughly. If the engine runs smoothly, check ignition switch and adjustment.

PRELIMINARY CHECKS
^ Perform the careful visual / physical checks as described in Preliminary Checks.

FUEL SYSTEM
^ Check the evaporative system and fuel tank venting.
^ Check the fuel injector for leakage, refer to Procedures / Diagnostic Charts / Chart A-6 Fuel System Diagnosis. Testing and Inspection
