Activating the Theft Lock Feature

The following procedure explains how to enter the secret code to activate the THEFT LOCK system. Read through all steps before starting the procedure.

Important: In order to avoid restarting the procedure over at Step 4, do not allow more than 15 seconds to elapse between any of the steps or the radio will automatically revert to time.

1. Write down any 3 or 4 digit number from 000-1999 and keep it in a safe place separate from the vehicle.
2. Turn the ignition to the ACC or RUN position.
3. Turn the radio OFF.
4. Press and hold the numbers 1 and 4 buttons together until --- display. Use the secret code number which has been written down.
5. Press MIN and 000 will appear on the display.
6. Press MIN again in order to make the last 2 digits agree with the code.
7. Press HR in order to make the first 1 or 2 digits agree with the code.
8. Press AM-FM after the secret code that was written down has been confirmed. The display will show REP to indicate steps 5-7 need to be repeated in order to confirm the secret code.
9. Press AM-FM again in order for the display to show SEC ensuring the radio is secure. The indicator by the volume control will begin flashing when the ignition is turned to the OFF position.
