Seats: Testing and Inspection
1. CHECK condition of POWER ACCY Circuit Breaker. If the Circuit Breaker is open, LOCATE and REPAIR cause of overload and RESET Circuit Breaker.2. CHECK that Grounds G201 and G402 are clean and tight.
3. If neither power seat operates and the Power Door Lock system is inoperative, then LOCATE and REPAIR the open in the ORN (540) wire between the I/P Fuse Block and Splice S221.
4. If, when attempting to raise or lower the full seat neither the Front Tilt Motor or the Rear Tilt Motor operates but the motors do operate to tilt the seat, then REPLACE the Power Seat Switch.
5. A short to ground on either side of any Power Seat motor may cause the Circuit Breaker to open when driving the seat one way but not when driving the seat the other way.
6. If any Power Seat Motor fails to operate, wait a few minutes for the internal Circuit Breaker to cool and reset before testing it again. If the motor starts to operate when tested again, LOCATE and REPAIR any mechanical binding or restraint in the seat drives.
^ CHECK for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a Continuity/Voltage check with a system disconnected. These Circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a Voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ CHECK for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other system (Refer to "General Troubleshooting Procedures,"). Diagnostic Aids
