DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE 65 PUMP MOTOR RELAY OR CIRCUIT OPEN

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

A DTC 65 sets when the VCM commands the pump motor relay "ON" and the ABS voltage (terminal "C" of the 5-way VCM connector) remains low.

TEST DESCRIPTION:

^ Check for open in CKT 2.
^ Check for open in CKT 350.
^ Check for open in CKT 173.
^ Check for open in CKT 1632.
^ Check for open in CKT 441.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS:

A DTC 65 relates to the VCM not being able to recognize or get a feedback voltage on circuit 173. A poor connection could be the cause of the DTC.

An open motor relay would cause a DTC 65 to set. Replacement of the BPMV would be necessary.

Do not pierce the electrical connectors, wires, seals, or insulation during testing. Doing so will break the seal and lead to corrosion and failure of the wiring and terminals.
