This bulletin is being issued to revise the DTC P1520 Park Neutral Position (PNP) Switch Circuit Table in the following Service Manuals:
^ 1996 GMP/96-L-2
^ 1996 GMP/96-A-2
^ 1996 GMT/96-ST-2
^ 1997 GMT/97-ST-2
A revised copy of the diagnostic table is included. Also add the following Diagnostic:
DTC P1520 Diagnostic Aids
^ An intermittent problem may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation, or a wire that is broken inside the insulation.
^ Any circuitry that is suspected as causing the intermittent concern should be thoroughly checked for the following conditions:
- Backed out terminals
- Improper mating
- Broken locks
- Improperly formed or damaged terminals
- Poor terminal to wiring connections
- Physical damage to the wiring harness
