General Description

Remote Control Door Lock Transmitter:

The remote keyless entry (RKE) system operates by means of remote control to lock and unlock the doors and release the rear doors or liftgate. A receiver module is installed in the instrument panel, attached to a clip near the right side of the steering column. The transmitter is handheld and attached to a key ring. The transmitter has three buttons that control the operation of the system. It emits a coded UHF radio signal that is received by the keyless entry control module, if the transmitter is within approximately 10 meters (33 feet) of the vehicle. The system has no effect on the normal operation of the locks or liftgate release. The transmitter is battery powered, water resistant, and supplied in pairs to each vehicle. The control module is only capable of recognizing two transmitters per vehicle. Replacement transmitters are available but must be programmed to match the control module.
