Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. CHECK the GAUGES FUSE (Fuse 4) at the I/P Fuse Block. If Fuse is open, LOCATE and REPAIR source of overload. REPLACE Fuse.
2. CHECK CIG LTR FUSE (Fuse 13) by operating the CIGAR LIGHTER. If Fuse is open, LOCATE and REPAIR source of overload, REPLACE Fuse.
3. CHECK condition of PWR ACC Circuit Breaker for an open condition. If Breaker is open, LOCATE and REPAIR source of overload. If Circuit Breaker would not reset, REPLACE the Circuit Breaker.
4. CHECK that Grounds G103, G200 and G403 are clean and tight.
5. Always CHECK terminal contact before replacing any Component.
6. If a second Transmitter is available, try it. If it works, change the batteries in the first Transmitter and try again. If it still doesn't work, it is defective.
7. CHECK Portable Transmitter Battery Terminals. They should be clean and make good contacts with the Battery.
8. If in doubt as to the condition of the Transmitter batteries, REPLACE them with new ones. CHECK for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove GOOD in Continuity/Voltage check (See Diagnostic Aids for General Troubleshooting Procedures). 9. CHECK that Remote Control Door Lock Receiver BLK/WHT (1455) Programming wire is not open or shorted to ground.
10. Ensure Power Door Locks System is operational before proceeding. If not, Refer to Power Locks for REPAIR before proceeding. Power Locks
^ CHECK for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a Continuity/Voltage check with a system disconnected. These Circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a Voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ CHECK for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (See Diagnostic Aids for General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
