No Heat from Air Ducts (Replace Heater Control Assembly)

1996 Chevrolet and GMC M/L Models

Condition

Some owners may experience a loss of heat and only cold air out of the air ducts

Cause

The internal actuator arm of the heater control assembly may have separated from the temperature control knob cam allowing the temperature setting to remain in the cold position.

Correction

Replace the heater control assembly.

Service Procedure

Refer to the 1996 M/L Van Service Manual for the proper replacement procedure.
