Output Speed Sensor Rotor Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE- Tools Required:
- J 8433/J 21427-01 Speedometer Gear Puller and Adapter
- J 36352 Speed Sensor Rotor Installer
1. Inspect the internal transmission speed sensor rotor for cracks or damaged teeth.
2. Inspect all splines on the output shaft for cracks or damaged splines.
3. Remove the output shaft seal and the output shaft sleeve.
4. If the internal speed sensor rotor is damaged, replace it.
5. Remove the internal speed sensor rotor.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Important: Do not re-use an internal speed sensor rotor that has been removed.
1. Slip the internal speed sensor rotor over the output shaft splines.
2. Install the installation depth C washer in the groove on the output shaft.
3. Place the speed sensor rotor installation tube on the output shaft. Press on the tube until the tube contacts the C washer in the window (the washer will be a positive stop for the tube).
