Replacement

REMOVAL
1. Remove the oil pan.
2. Remove the oil pump bolt from the crankshaft main bearing cap.
3. Remove the oil pump.
4. Inspect the oil pump pickup tube and the screen for damage or looseness.
5. If the oil pump tube is damaged or loose, replace the oil pump.
^ The pickup tube and the screen are not serviced separately.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the oil pump to the engine.
(1) Align the slot in the oil pump shaft with The tang on the distributor shaft.
(2) The oil pump should slide easily into place.
(3) Do not use a gasket.
2. Install the oil pump to the crankshaft main bearing cap bolts.
^ Tighten the crankshaft main bearing cap bait to 90 Nm (65 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the oil pan.
