Pump Assembly Removal

- Tools Required:
- J 23129 Seal Remover
- J 6125-1B Slide Hammer
- J 37789-A Pump Remover
- Or Equivalent





1. Remove the turbine shaft oil seal ring (2).





2. Remove the converter to pump seal (201) using J 23129 and J 6125-1B.





3. Remove the seven pump to case bolt and seal assemblies (3).
4. Attach J 37789-A to the pump shaft. Tighten the thumb screw.
5. Turn the handle of J 37789-A down onto the turbine shaft in order to raise the oil pump assembly (4) out of the case.
6. Remove the pump assembly (4).
7. Remove J 37789-A.





8. Remove the transmission oil pump gasket (6).

Important: The thrust washer may be stuck to the pump cover.

9. Remove the selective thrust washer (218).
