Reaction Shaft Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the reaction shaft/internal gear retainer and the reaction carrier shaft from the input internal gear.
2. Inspect the reaction carrier shaft and the input internal gear for the following defects:
^ Scoring
^ Cracking
^ Damaged or worn bushings
^ A cracked shaft
^ A damaged spline
^ Damaged gear teeth





3. Remove the reaction carrier shaft front bushing.





4. Remove the reaction carrier shaft rear bushing.





5. Install a reaction carrier shaft front bushing.





6. Install a reaction carrier shaft rear bushing.
