REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. The negative battery cable(s).
2. Disable SIR system.
3. The instrument cluster assembly.
4. The instrument panel lower extension upper trim panel.
5. The instrument panel driver knee bolster deflector assembly and the driver knee bolster inner and outer brackets.
6. The instrument panel passenger knee bolster inner and outer brackets.
7. The instrument panel upper trim pad.
8. The engine cover.
9. The radio (if equipped).
10. The remote CD player (if equipped).
11. The radio and the remote CD player mounting brackets.
12. The instrument panel compartments (if equipped).
13. The heater and A/C control.
14. The push-in fasteners retaining the radio and heater and air conditioning wiring harnesses to the instrument panel carrier.
15. The bolt retaining the steering column wiring harness to the instrument panel carrier.
16. The nuts retaining the steering column to the instrument panel carrier.
17. The instrument cluster wiring harness from instrument panel carrier.
18. The bolts retaining instrument panel carrier to the vehicle.
19. Carefully rotate the instrument panel carrier out and downward for further component access.
20. The wiring harness retainers from the instrument panel carrier.

Important
^ Do not remove the heater and air conditioning vacuum harness retainers from the air ducts.

21. The heater and air conditioning vacuum harness connector at the lower right of the cowl area.
22. The screws retaining the air ducts to the instrument panel carrier.
23. The air ducts from the instrument panel carrier.
24. The instrument panel carrier from the vehicle.
