ABS Warning Lamps and Indicators
WARNING/INDICATOR LAMP OPERATIONThe Four Wheel Antilock (4WAL) system uses an ANTILOCK indicator lamp in the instrument cluster to show system operation and malfunctions.
NORMAL LAMP OPERATION
A bulb check occurs each time the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position. The ANTILOCK and BRAKE lamps should turn on, remain on for about two seconds, then turn off. The ANTILOCK lamp also indicates Antilock Brake System (ABS) malfunctions. When the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) detects a malfunction in the system it turns the ANTILOCK and sometimes the BRAKE lamp on.
