Parking Brake System: Service and Repair

NOTE: Before any components of the parking brake system are replaced, the following procedures must be followed.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. The left kick panel.
2. The parking brake pedal in the "FULL" upward position.
3. With one person in the vehicle, raise and support the vehicle.
4. With a second person, pull rearward on the front of the cable strand until the parking brake pedal drum reaches its full reset position.
5. Insert a scribe or nail into the parking brake pedal to hold the tension to its full reset position.
6. The part that requires service.
