Radiator: Description and Operation
A cross-flow radiator is used on all models. Tanks in this type radiator are located to the right and left of the core. Radiators have an oil cooler with inlet and outlet fittings for transmission fluid circulation.
WARNING: NEVER spray water on a hot radiator The resulting steam could cause personal injury.
Core and Tanks
The core is made of aluminum and is of the cross-flow design. It utilizes large tubes that resist plugging. Repairs to the tubes and core are not recommended for service.
The core is attached to the tanks by clinched tabs on the core that cannot be bent back. If tank or core is at fault, a complete radiator must be replaced.
