Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

WARNING: Before removing or installing any electrical unit, or when a tool could easily come in contact with "live" exposed electrical terminals, disconnect the negative battery cable to help prevent personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or components. Unless instructed otherwise, the ignition switch must be in the "OFF" or "LOCK" position.





REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. The negative battery cable.
2. The electrical connector from the stoplamp switch.
3. The retainer from the brake pedal pin.
4. The switch by unsnapping from the power brake booster pushrod.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. The switch by snapping onto the power brake booster pushrod.
2. The retainer to the brake pedal pin.
3. The electrical connector to the stoplamp switch.
4. The negative battery cable.
