Transmission End Play Check #2

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
- Tools Required:
- J 25022-A End Play Checking Fixture
- J 34725 End Play Fixture Adapter
- J 24773-A Oil Pump Remover and End Play Checking Fixture
- J 8001 Dial Indicator Set





1. Install the end play adaptor.





2. Install an oil pump remover tool.





3. Remove an oil pump bolt.
4. Install post (a 278 mm or 11 inch bolt) and lock nut.
5. Install dial indicator.





6. Set the dial indicator to zero.
7. Pull up on oil pump remover tool J 24773-A .
8. The end play should be 0.13-0.92 mm (0.005-0.036 inch).





9. The selective washer which controls the end play is located between the input housing and the thrust bearing on the oil pump hub. If the dial indicator sows no end play, the selective washer and thrust bearing may have been misassembled.
