Valve Rocker Arm Stud Remove and Install

- J 5715 Reamer (0.0762 mm (0.003 inch)
- J 6036 Reamer (0.03302 mm (0.013 inch)
- J 5802-01 Rocker Arm Stud Installer
CAUTION: Valve rocker arm studs that have damaged threads or are loose in cylinder heads should be replaced. New studs are available in 0.0762 mm (0.003 inch) and 0.3302 mm (0.013 inch) oversize.
1. Place the J 5802-01 over the stud to be removed.
2. Install a nut and a flat washer.
3. Remove the stud by turning the nut.
4. Ream the hole to the proper size for the replacement oversize stud. Use J 5715 for 0.0762 mm (0.003 inch) oversize studs, or J 6036 for 0.3302 mm (0.013 inch) oversize studs.
5. Coat the lower end (press-fit area) of stud with hypoid axle lubricant.
6. Drive the stud into place with a hammer and J 6880.The stud is installed to proper depth when the tool bottoms on the cylinder head.
