NOTE: Valve rocker arm cover gaskets are reusable. Replace only if the gaskets are damaged.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery cable.
2. Remove the Positive Crankcase Ventilator (PCV) valve and the tube.
3. Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) inlet tube.
4. Remove the spark plug wires. Refer to Powertrain Management.
5. Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
6. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.
7. Remove the valve rocker arm cover gasket.
8. Inspect the valve rocker arm cover, valve rocker arm cover gasket, and sealing surfaces for distortion and damage. Replace if necessary.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the valve rocker arm cover.
2. Install the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
^ Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 8 Nm (72 inch lbs.).
3. Install the sparkplug wires. Refer to Powertrain Management.
4. Install the EGR inlet tube.
5. Install the PCV valve and the tube.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
