Charging System Warning Lamp

The charging system warning lamp appears on the instrument cluster as a battery symbol. It turns on when the ignition switch is in the "RUN" position and the engine is not running. It turns off when the engine is running, if the charging system functions properly. A charging system malfunction is indicated when the charging system warning lamp is on with the engine running. This warning lamp will glow at full brilliance. not half lit, when a charging system malfunction occurs or system voltage is too high or too low.
